Pearl Ollie

I grew up in Michigan and from the time I was a little girl I knew art and music were going to be my life journey. My disciplines started out with singing and sculpting, as well as drawing and painting. Graduated with honors in music and art. Attended Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit, Michigan when I was 17 and continued to go to the school when it changed names to Center for Creative Study. My classes were Sculpting and Fine Arts such as Figure Drawing, Painting, Glass Bowing, Design Concepts, Printmaking, Art History and Wood shop. Also attended Henry Ford Community College studying Synthesizer Technique and music theory. I was a choir conductor for 3 years and have taught music for many years. Working also as a studio musician it gave me the opportunity to meet and perform with many different musicians from around the world. I have been a teacher in music and art the good part of my life. I teach art and piano classes privately and I teach a watercolor and acrylic painting class at Catherine Schweinsberg Rood Central Library in Cocoa, FL for the last 20 years. I hosted a TV show for several years called Focus on Brevard Arts, Brighthouse channel 49 until Spectrum took over the station. I belong to Brevard Cultural Alliance which has been a wonderful avenue for the arts. To sum it up I am living my life following the little girl's dream.
