Kestrel Michaud

Working primarily in fabric and illustrative quilts, Kestrel began winning numerous awards for her art, as early as the age of 15. She attended the Ringling College of Art and Design and was heavily encouraged by her professors to continue working in fabric; she graduated with her BFA in illustration. In 2021, she won a grand prize at one of the largest quilt festivals in the world, the International Quilt Festival of Houston. Her works have also been featured in galleries across the US, as well as in other countries, such as South Korea, Australia and France. Kestrel says her style is that of imaginative realism, each one depicting various characters and stories.
